Henrietta’s Dream
Henrietta and Michael Spink have two severely disabled boys, Henry (19 yrs) and Freddie (16 yrs) and have struggled for years to cope with meeting the boys’ needs and to fight for the rights of all disabled children in the UK.
Their story is available in paperback ‘Henrietta’s Dream’ published by Hodder and Stoughton.
Henrietta holds dear her dream of one day finding a cure for her boys, Freddie who had a stroke at birth and is autistic and, in particular, Henry, who has a perfectly normal brain but which for some reason does not function, leaving Henry in a wheelchair and without speech.
Promark has worked with Henrietta and Michael to help publicise their continuing struggle, liaising with the media and medical contacts and helping with fundraising and sponsorship.
Over the years the family have investigated thousands of medical treatments in their search to improve the various problems the boys face daily. This led to the founding of the Henry Spink Foundation in 1996, which is a source of reference for families searching for conventional and alternative medical treatments for a variety of disabilities.
Today the search goes on and the following pages record some of the more significant events in the life of the Spink family, taking up the story from where the book left off, including:

Even with the constant daily struggle with her own children, Henrietta still found time in 1996 to found the Henry Spink Foundation, a source of information on conventional and alternative medical treatments for a variety of disabilities. Henrietta still devotes her time, being the main point of contact for all enquiries.
