The Voyage
Spiralling debts due to having to fund carers and vital equipment themselves (their local council were unable to give them the level of support both boys needed) and to cover legal fees taking their case to the courts meant the family lost their London home. With no hope of working, both parents have to be full time carers to their boys, and having lost their house, Henrietta and Michael decided to think ‘outside the box’ and with the money left from the sale bought a 52ft Beneteau yacht.
Promark worked with Henrietta and Michael to publicise their continuing struggle and to secure sponsorship in order to fulfil their dream of taking the boys and sailing around the world.
However, just five months into the voyage, the family were recalled from the Mediterranean as doctors in the States needed the boys to take part in further medical trials. Thanks to a kind sponsor the family were able to fly to the USA and continue with treatment in the search for a cure.
